Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox named Carl Willis their new pitching coach after Saturday's 7-1 loss to Toronto.
The Red Sox, just 13-17 this season, fired third-year pitching coach Juan Nieves on Thursday.
Willis has 11 seasons as a major league pitching coach with Cleveland and Seattle from 2003-13. He served as pitching coach for the Indians' Triple-A Columbus Clippers before joining the Red Sox.
