Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox and pitcher Andrew Miller agreed to terms on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract on Saturday, avoiding arbitration.
Miller, 28, was 1-2 with a career-low 2.64 earned run average over 37 games for Boston last season.
However, his campaign was cut short due to a left foot injury that saw him undergo Lis-Franc ligament repair surgery on July 15.
Since breaking into the majors in 2006 with Detroit, he has appeared in 186 games, including 66 starts, and is 25-33 with a 5.33 ERA. He also pitched for the Marlins in addition to the Tigers and Red Sox.
