Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval left the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with an apparent knee injury.
Sandoval was forced to exit after being hit squarely on the left knee by a pitch from Texas Rangers reliever Sam Freeman. He was tended by team medical staff and then escorted into the locker room for further evaluation.
His pinch runner was Brock Holt, who also took over at third in the top of the eighth.
