CINCINNATI (AP) The Bengals have signed former New England Patriot receiver Brandon LaFell to a one-year contract, giving them a veteran to help fill out a pass-catching group that lost two regulars to free agency.
Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu left as free agents after the Bengals lost in the first round of the playoffs for the fifth straight season. Cincinnati wanted a veteran to complement A.J. Green.
LaFell played his first four seasons in Carolina before signing with the Patriots. He had his best season in 2014, helping New England win the Super Bowl. An injured left foot limited him to 37 catches for 515 yards without a touchdown last season, but he says he's fully healthy now.
