The Texas Rangers have been awarded infielder Adam Rosales off waivers from the Oakland Athletics, the team announced Friday.

Rosales, who was designated for assignment by the A's on Wednesday, will be added to the active roster when the Rangers begin a three-game series against his former club in Oakland on Friday. A corresponding move will take place prior to the start of the game.

The 30-year-old Rosales was batting just .193 with four home runs and eight RBI over 50 games with Oakland this season, and owns a .220 average with 19 homers and 76 RBI through 301 career contests with the A's and Cincinnati.
