New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Rangers right wing Ryan Callahan is expected to be sidelined for at least a month because of a sprained left knee.
Callahan was hurt during the first period of Tuesday's game against Nashville. He limped toward the bench after a check on Predators' defenseman Victor Bartley and did not return.
The Rangers said after the contest that the captain sustained a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament and will miss the next 4-to-6 weeks.
Callahan has seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 24 games this season. He missed seven games with a broken thumb suffered in October.
