St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Rams signed middle linebacker James Laurinaitis to a five-year contract extension on Saturday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Laurinaitis, voted team captain earlier this week, will be under contract until 2017.
A 2009 second-round draft choice out of Ohio State, Laurinaitis tallied 142 tackles and three sacks last season.
Over the course of his three-year career, the 26-year-old has posted 376 tackles and eight sacks.
