Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez was held out of the lineup on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ramirez appeared to injure his right shoulder while catching a foul ball in the seventh inning of Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers did not give the shortstop an MRI on Monday because Ramirez stated that he was feeling better.

The 29-year-old owns a .361 average in 54 games this season. He has already had two stints on the disabled list this season due to a thumb injury and a pulled hamstring.

Nick Punto started at shortstop in his place.

Yasiel Puig returned to the lineup on Monday after sitting out Sunday because of a sore hand. The right fielder banged up his left hand on a diving catch in Saturday's win against the Cubs.
