NAPA, Calif. (AP) Clive Walford practiced for the first time in training camp with the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday.
Raiders coach Jack Del Rio ended Walford's day early out of concern the rookie tight end might get fatigued.
The third-round pick missed the first nine days of practice with an apparent leg injury he suffered during the rookie portion of camp. The team has not disclosed the nature or extent of the injury but the training staff was cautious with him during his rehab.
Back on the field Tuesday for an evening workout, the 6-foot-4-inch, 250-pound Walford went through several individual position drills, took part in a handful of team scrimmage plays and also spent time working on special teams before sitting out the final 20 minutes of practice.
Del Rio hasn't said whether Walford will play in Friday's preseason opener against St. Louis.
