Alameda, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders have placed cornerback Carlos Rogers on injured reserve due to a sprained knee that has sidelined him for the past month.
Rogers has not played in any of Oakland's last four games because of the injury. The 10-year veteran started the Raiders' first seven contests, recording 45 tackles, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
The Raiders signed the former Redskins and 49ers defensive back to a one-year contract in March.
Running back George Atkinson III was signed from the practice squad to fill the available roster spot.
Atkinson spent the preseason with the Raiders before being cut. The Notre Dame product rushed for 65 yards on 10 carries and averaged 29.7 yards on three kick returns.
