Rafa Benitez tabbed as Napoli boss

Rafael Benitez has been tabbed as the new manager of Napoli, replacing former boss Walter Mazzarri, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed on Monday.

De Laurentiis confirmed the news on his official Twitter account on Monday, although the length of Benitez's contract has yet to be confirmed.

The Spaniard, Benitez, last managed in Italy with Inter Milan in 2010, but was fired after just six months on the job following a poor start to the league campaign.

But Benitez, who guided Liverpool to the Champions League title in 2005, successfully resuscitated his career this season after being named Chelsea's interim manager and leading the Blues to the Europa League crown.

Napoli finished second to champions Juventus in Serie A this season.
