Boise, ID – When the United States faces visiting Serbia in a Davis Cup quarterfinal next week, Sam Querrey and John Isner will play singles for the hosts in the best-of-five affair, from April 5-7.
U.S. captain Jim Courier decided to go with the same squad that beat Brazil in the first round last month in Jacksonville, Fla. The 20th-ranked Querrey and 6-foot-9 Isner, ranked 23rd, will be joined by doubles greats Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. The 6-foot-6 Querrey beat Brazilian Thiago Alves in a fifth and deciding rubber last month in Florida.
Serbia will be led by world No. 1 superstar Novak Djokovic for the showdown on an indoor hardcourt at Boise's Taco Bell Arena. The reigning Australian Open champ will be joined by Viktor Troicki, Nenad Zimonjic and Ilija Bozoljac.
The 2010 champion Serbs topped the 32-time titlist Americans 3-2 in Belgrade in an opening-round tie three years ago in their lone Davis Cup meeting.
The USA-Serbia winner will meet the Canada-Italy victor in the semifinals in September.
