QPR striker Andy Johnson looks set to miss most of the Premiership season after sustaining an ACL injury in his team's 0-0 draw with Chelsea over the weekend.

Johnson was forced to leave the match in the first half of the scoreless draw, with subsequent tests revealing the extent of the damage.

"Andy Johnson suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Chelsea and is likely to be sidelined for the majority of the season," QPR posted on its official Twitter account.

The 31-year-old joined QPR this summer from Fulham after his deal at Craven Cottage expired.

Johnson scored three goals in 20 league games for Fulham last term, but he was only able to make three appearances for QPR this season before suffering the injury.
