PSV Eindhoven winger Luciano Larsingh has been ruled out of action for up to nine months following a knee operation.

The 22-year-old sustained the knee injury before the Eredivisie's winter break and will now miss an extended recovery period of time after going under the knife on Wednesday.

"Luciano Narsingh will be sidelined for six to nine months after undergoing surgery on a knee problem on Wednesday," read a statement on PSV's official website. "The PSV forward suffered a cruciate ligament injury and damage in PSV's 1-6 league win over NAC Breda on 22 December.

"Narsingh underwent surgery in the Bergman Clinic in Naarden on Wednesday afternoon. The 22-year-old will now start a long structured rehabilitation program."
