PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted "we're not playing good football at the moment," after a second successive scoreless draw and third straight tie to open the Ligue 1 season last weekend.
With well over $100 million in reinforcements signed this summer, highlighted by the additions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, free-spending PSG has disappointed with just three points from three matches.
"We're not happy with our results," Ancelotti said. "We have the quality to win but we need to work harder."
PSG has tied Lorient, Ajaccio and Bordeaux, and will try to earn its first win of the young season Sunday at Lille.
Ancelotti insisted, "It's purely a technical and tactical problem, it's not a question of pressure." But added, "Still, it's not a good start."
The pressure will build on Ancelotti and PSG should another poor result follow this weekend against fellow unbeaten Lille, which has a win and two draws.
PSG ended second in Ligue 1 last season after spending well over $200 million on transfers last summer and in January, but was the clear favorite in France this season. Especially with the additions of Ibrahimovic and Silva.
Lille just won Ligue 1 in 2010-11, is tough at home, and is capable of piling on the misery for PSG this weekend.
Marseille will try to extend its perfect start when it hosts Rennes on Sunday. Marseille has three wins from three games, and is the only side off to such a start. Marseille beat champions Marseille, 1-0, last weekend.
Coach Elie Baup was excited about the start, but remained grounded as well.
"We've got nine points, which is great, but we're only three matches into the season and it's all provisional. I think it's only really after ten games or so that you get an idea of where you stand," Baup said.
Also Sunday, Bordeaux hosts Nice. The rest of the league plays Saturday, with Lyon beginning life without goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who departed for Tottenham on Friday, at home against Valenciennes.
Also Saturday, Bastia hosts St Etienne, Ajaccio hosts Evian, Brest hosts Troyes, Lorient hosts Nancy, Sochaux hosts Montpellier, and Toulouse hosts Reims.
