PSG debuted its new-look team last week in a opening home loss to Lorient, but another reinforcement arrived in $60 million Javier Pastore and he could make his debut Saturday at Rennes.

PSG's initial additions were not enough against Lorient, but should Argentine Pastore join the mix this week, it will just put more pressure on boss Antoine Kombouare to produce results.

"There is a lot of expectation, it's true," Kombouare said, "but there is also a lot of players who are behind in terms of preparation. It's not the best way to start the season, but it is just the first game.

"We will need time to get to know one another, but we will improve. There is no need to panic."

Rennes sits atop the Ligue 1 standings after a 5-1 win at promoted Dijon as it looked solid with new additions Jonathan Pitroipa, Julien Feret, Benoit Costil and Chris Mavinga.

Defending champions Lille settled for a 1-1 draw at Nancy last week, and will try for its first win Sunday at home against Montpellier. Montpellier opened with a 3-1 win over Auxerre.

"I could say that I am disappointed to only come away with a point after going a goal up," said Lille coach Rudi Garcia. "But there were plenty of positives to take from the game."

Lyon, which won the last of seven straight titles in 2008, is tied for second with Montpellier after a 3-1 win at Nice last week, and hosts promoted Ajaccio this weekend.

Also Saturday, Lorient hosts Bordeaux, St Etienne hosts Nancy, Sochaux hosts Caen, Toulouse hosts Dijon and Valenciennes hosts Brest. Also Sunday, Auxerre hosts Marseille and Evian hosts Nice.
