The Detroit Pistons have reportedly traded Ben Gordon and his hefty contract to the Charlotte Bobcats for Corey Maggette and a future protected first-round pick.
According to the Detroit News, the two teams have swapped their highest-paid players, with the Pistons taking a pick for their troubles despite Gordon's lengthier contract.
Gordon has another guaranteed year for over $12 million, plus a player option for 2013-14 at over $13 million that he is likely to exercise. Maggette has only one year remaining on his deal at just under $11 million.
Details about the first-round pick are unknown at this point.
