Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates placed outfielder Andrew Lambo on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
Lambo was just 1-for-25 in 20 games this season.
Pittsburgh selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Steve Lombardozzi from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Lambo on the roster.
The switch-hitting Lombardozzi currently ranks second in the International League in batting (.379) and has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games.
