Pirates activate Lee from DL

The Pittsburgh Pirates activated first baseman day disabled list Saturday.

Lee was placed on the DL on August 13 because of a fractured bone in his left wrist.

Lee, acquired from Baltimore just prior to the trade deadline, has not played since August 9. He was hit on the wrist by Chicago's Carlos Marmol on August 3, then sat out four games before returning for the next two.

Lee has played in just five games for the Pirates since the July 30 trade. He hit a pair of homers in his first game with the club, but has just three hits since and is batting .278 with his new team.

In 90 games overall this season, the veteran is hitting .247 with 14 homers and 44 runs batted in.

Lee went 3-for-5 in Saturday's game with five RBI, including the game-deciding grand slam in the top of the ninth against Marmol.
