Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated pitcher Antonio Bastardo from the paternity list prior to Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
Bastardo, acquired from the Phillies in December, has a 6.43 ERA in just seven innings this season. He landed on the paternity list Monday.
To make room for Bastardo on the roster, the Pirates optioned pitcher Bobby LaFromboise back to Triple-A Indianapolis. LaFromboise pitched one scoreless inning against Philadelphia on Thursday.
