Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy day disabled list Monday with a mild Grade 2 strain of his right groin.
He suffered the injury and left the game in the third inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Washington Nationals.
"Gone till September," Rollins tweeted Monday afternoon after announcing the injury.
The former MVP is batting .268 with 14 home runs and 58 RBI over 121 games this season. He also has 28 stolen bases and has scored 79 times.
The Phillies will make another roster move before Monday's series opener against the New York Mets. Reportedly, they will activate third baseman Placido Polanco off the DL. He has been out since August 7 with a sports hernia.
