Bad Gastein, Austria (SportsNetwork.com) - German Andrea Petkovic beat American Shelby Rogers 6-3, 6-3 in Sunday's final at the Nurnberger Gastein Ladies tennis tournament.
The fourth-seeded Petkovic closed out the one-hour, 13-minute match by breaking Rogers' serve for a sixth time.
Petkovic captured her fourth career title and second of the season, adding to her triumph in Charleston in April. She won her first career title at this event in 2009.
The 147th-ranked Rogers, who had to win three qualifying matches to reach the main draw, was playing in her first WTA final.
Rogers, 21, upset second-seeded Italian Sara Errani in the semifinals.
