Shenzhen, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Fifth-seeded Peng Shuai beat wild card Liu Fangzhou in straight sets Sunday in the first round of the Shenzhen Open.

Peng won the all-Chinese match 6-1, 6-3 in the first-ever meeting between the countrywomen.

In the other first-round match, Spain's Silvia Soler-Espinosa beat Ukranian Lesia Tsurenko 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to remain undefeated in three all-time meetings between the players.

Peng will face Soler-Espinosa in the second round.

Top-ranked Li Na of China is the defending champion and will play wild card Russian Vera Zvonareva in the first round.
