Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders announced that center Nikola Pekovic would miss the remainder of the season after sustaining an ankle injury in March.

Regularly listed as questionable in injury updates with his latest ailment, Pekovic wound up missing the last 10 contests. Including Monday's game against Utah, the Timberwolves have nine games remaining.

Ankle injuries have been a persistent problem for Pekovic this season, causing him to miss 42 of Minnesota's games, including a stretch of 31 in a row from November to January.

Pekovic also missed 28 games in 2013-14 due to an ankle injury.
