Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers brought back linebacker Jason Williams, who was a late cut in training camp, and placed guard Amini Silatolu on injured reserve.

The moves were announced Wednesday.

The Panthers signed Williams, who played five games for them last season and two with the Philadelphia Eagles. He appeared in 18 games for the Panthers from 2010-11, including 14 in 2011, and played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2009-10.

Silatolu will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL suffered Oct. 6 against the Cardinals.
