Sherrod Martin's interception with 35 19 victory over the winless Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts took over their own 28 with 3:09 to play and marched down the field. Faced with a 4th-and-5 from the 15, Austin Collie caught a 12-yard pass over the middle. Just two plays later, Curtis Painter's pass to Collie in the back of the end zone hit off the wide receiver's hands and set up an interception. Martin managed to catch the ball and get both feet in.
DeAngelo Williams carried the ball 15 times for 69 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers (3-8), who snapped a 12-game road skid.
Cam Newton completed 20-of-27 passes for 208 yards. He also carried the ball nine times for 53 yards and a score.
Painter connected on 15-of-29 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown for the Colts (0-11), who are off to their first 0-11 start since 1986.
