Palermo, Italy – Bortolo Mutti has been named the new manager at Palermo on Monday after the club dismissed Devis Mangia earlier in the day.
Mangia was sacked following a 2-0 defeat to Catania on Sunday, which dropped Palermo into 10th place, and his departure comes just four months after he took charge of the team.
The 57-year-old Mutti returns for his second spell at Palermo after managing the club 10 years ago, while he has also spent time with Atalanta, Napoli and most recently Bari, where he was unable to keep the team from being relegated last season.
Mutti will be presented as manager on Tuesday and will take charge of his first game back at the club on Wednesday at Novara.
