Padres call up P Hamren

San Diego, CA – The San Diego Padres recalled pitcher Erik A Tucson on Tuesday.

Hamren, 25, will be making his second stint with the Padres after being optioned to the farm club on August 30. In 10 appearances for the Padres this season, the right-hander has a 1-0 record with a 2.79 earned run average, nine strikeouts and seven walks.

Originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 37th round of the 2008 draft, he was signed by San Diego as a minor league free agent in October of last year after spending the 2010 season playing in independent league baseball.
