San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with pitchers Eric Stults and Tim Stauffer.
Stults went 11-13 with a 3.93 ERA in 33 starts in 2013. The left-hander tossed a career-high 203 2/3 innings, striking out 131 while allowing 219 hits and walking 40.
Stauffer, a 31-year-old righty, went 3-1 in 43 relief appearance in 2013. He posted a 3.75 ERA, striking out 64, walking 20 and allowing 59 hits in 69 2/3 innings.
According to MLB.com, the 34-year-old Stults will make $2.75 million and Stauffer will pocket $1.6 million in 2014.
The Padres also tendered contracts to third baseman Chase Headley, reliever Luke Gregerson, starting pitchers Ian Kennedy, Andrew Cashner and Tyson Ross, outfielders Kyle Blanks and Jesus Guzman and shortstop Everth Cabrera.
