Green Bay, WI – The Green Bay Packers and starting right term contract extension.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sitton confirmed the deal was for six years.
"I will be a packer for 6 more years. I want to thank the packers organization and the amazing fans!" Sitton posted on his Twitter account.
Sitton was entering the final year of the rookie deal he signed as a fourth- round draft pick in 2008.
"It's a big weight off my shoulders," said Sitton on the team's website. "That was what we said from the beginning, that we wanted to get it done before the season. That way I didn't have to deal with it and I could just focus on playing football. That's what I do. I'm a football player."
Sitton has not missed a game over the last two years. He has played in 37 straight games, including the postseason.
