Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Indiana point guard George Hill will make his season debut when the Pacers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
Pacers head coach Frank Vogel confirmed to reporters following Tuesday's shootaround that Hill will play limited minutes off the bench against the Pelicans.
Hill has missed Indiana's first 28 games with a left knee contusion he sustained in a preseason contest against Minnesota on Oct. 21.
"We feel like he's healthy enough to play," Vogel said. "His conditioning is still going to be a concern. We'll just keep an eye on it. Won't play him huge minutes (on Tuesday), but it'll be a good situation to sort of get his feet wet."
Hill was a key part of Indiana's run to the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed last season, with the Indianapolis native starting 76 games and averaging 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
Since coming to the Pacers in a trade with San Antonio in 2011, Hill has averaged 11.6 points, 3.6 assists and shot 36.7 percent from 3-point range in three seasons.
Indiana has been hit hard by injuries all throughout the early portion of this season, resulting in a 9-19 record entering Tuesday's matchup.
In addition to Hill, All-Star forward Paul George is likely to miss the entire 2014-15 campaign with a broken leg, while veteran forward David West sat out the Pacers' first 15 games with a sprained right ankle.
