Malaga, Spain – Malaga announced Friday that it has signed United States international Oguchi Onyewu on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
Onyewu joins the La Liga club from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon and has enjoyed stints with Standard Liege, AC Milan, Newcastle United and Twente.
The 30-year-old defender has featured for the American national team more than 65 times, making appearances in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
