Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics announced Monday that starting pitcher Jarrod Parker will have Tommy John surgery on March 25 and is likely to miss the 2014 season.

It will be the second time the 25-year-old Parker will undergo the procedure. Dr. James Andrews performed the original Tommy John surgery on Parker in 2009 and will carry out next week's procedure.

The right-hander made 32 starts for the A's last season, going 12-8 with a 3.97 earned run average while striking out 134.
