Joey Logano won the pole for this afternoon’s Dollar General 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.
Logano qualified at 178.012 miles per hour in his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to earn his 20th career pole in 104 NNS starts. “I feel like I’ve got a good shot at another win today,” said Logano. “We just have to do the right things.”
Qualifying alongside Logano was the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Austin Dillon, who had a lap of 177.649 mph to claim the outside spot on Row 1.
Right behind Dillon was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at 177.387 mph in the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford. Sam Hornish Jr. was fourth, at 176.991 mph in the No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge.
Starting on Row 3 will be Elliott Sadler and Kyle Busch.
Paul Menard was seventh, followed by Michael Annett, Mike Bliss and Just Allgaier. Danica Patrick qualified 12th.
Sadler comes into the race with a one-point lead over defending series champion Stenhouse. Sadler and Stenhouse finished 1-2 when the series raced here in July.
