New Mexico names Bob Davie head coach
Albuquerque, NM – The University of New Mexico announced that former Notre Dame coach Bob Davie will be introduced as the new Lobos head coach in a press conference on Thursday.
The 57-year-old Davie was the head coach at Notre Dame from 1997-2001 and had a 35-25 mark, including a 2001 Fiesta Bowl appearance with the Irish.
Davie will become the 31st coach in school history and takes over for Mike Locksley, who was just 2-26 with New Mexico in two-plus seasons.
The Lobos (1-9) won their first game of the season last Saturday by defeating UNLV, 21-14.
