Nets pick up G Bogans

Seeking to bolster its defensive foot-5 free agent guard Keith Bogans on Wednesday.

Per team policy, contract terms were not disclosed.

"Keith will give us defensive toughness and experience," said Nets general manager Billy King in a statement. "He will add depth and versatility to our perimeter."

Bogans, who started all 82 regular-season games for the Chicago Bulls last season, is an eight-year NBA veteran who was taken 43rd overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2003 NBA Draft. Bogans also started all 16 postseason games for the Bulls in 2011.

In addition to his defensive presence, Bogans added poise from behind the arc, leading the NBA in postseason three-point shooting with a 42.4 percent conversion rate.

To make room on their roster for Bogans, the Nets waived forward Larry Owens.
