NEC extended its unbeaten run in Eredivisie play to seven games on Tuesday with a 2-0 defeat of Excelsior at the Stadion Woudestein.
Lasse Schone converted a penalty kick just before halftime for his 10th goal of the season, while Krisztian Vadocz nabbed his first of the campaign to seal three points for the visitors five minutes from time.
The win sees NEC collect 17 points from its last seven matches, bringing the club to 40 points on the season. Excelsior has lost three straight to remain second from bottom on 18 points.
