New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA has rescinded the technical foul called against Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook on Sunday, enabling the star guard to play Monday against Portland.
Westbrook was whistled for a technical foul during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against Indiana. It was his 16th technical of the season, which automatically triggers a one-game suspension.
However, the NBA reviews all technical foul calls during the season and, in some cases, reverses the decisions. It was the second such reversal for Westbrook in the past few weeks.
The Thunder enter Monday's critical contest against the Blazers tied with New Orleans for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with just two games remaining.
