Washington Nationals outfielder Michael Morse left Friday's matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies in the top of the first inning with a right hand contusion.

Morse was batting with a runner on second and two outs in the first frame when Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick drilled him in the right hand with a change-up.

Morse was examined by the trainer before heading to the clubhouse to get X- rays, which came back negative.

Roger Bernadina replaced Morse, who is batting .286 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI this season.
