Estoril, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Gilles Muller of Luxembourg was among the winners Monday in the first round of the Estoril Open, but sixth-seeded Jeremy Chardy of France was shown an early exit.

The eighth-seeded Muller went the distance Monday in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Portuguese wild card Frederico Ferreira Silva, while Croatia's Borna Coric needed just 83 minutes to dispatch Chardy in a quick 6-2, 6-4 decision.

Other winners Monday in limited main draw action were Serbia's Filip Krajinovic and Dutchman Robin Haase.

Krajinovic eased past Colombia's Alejandro Gonzalez, 6-3, 6-3, and Haase gutted out a 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-4 win over Ricardas Berankis.

Haase earned a second-round match with top-seeded Feliciano Lopez of Spain, one of four men to receive a first-round bye. South Africa's Kevin Anderson, Spain's Tommy Robredo and Argentina's Leonardo Mayer are the others.
