Motherwell coach Stuart McCall was "bitterly disappointed" by his team's exit from the Scottish League Cup in midweek, but now the Steelmen will turn their attention back to the league for a home match with Aberdeen.
Motherwell began its league campaign with 10 points from four games, but the club has earned just three from its last four matches while being outscored 12-4.
And now following a defeat on penalty kicks to Hibernian in the League Cup, McCall's team must regain its early-season form.
Motherwell still sits in third place in the SPL table despite its dip in results, and Aberdeen should give the club a chance to get back into the win column.
The Dons have won one of eight games to begin the season and enter the contest on the back of successive draws.
Rangers has won six straight games in the league and aims for a seventh at Dunfermline on Saturday, while Celtic tries to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat to Rangers last weekend when the Hoops host last-place Inverness.
Dundee United has won just one of its last six games and visits Hibernian, Kilmarnock and St Mirren get together at St Mirren Park and Hearts, which is unbeaten in five league games, tries to extend that streak on Sunday at St Johnstone.
