Major League Baseball has suspended three minor league pitchers for drug violations, including two in the Philadelphia Phillies system.
The other, New York Yankees right-hander Daniel Gil, received a 50-game ban after testing positive for the performance-enhancer Sibutramine. Gil is on the roster of the Single-A Tampa Yankees.
Phillies right-hander Ronald Mendez and left-hander Audrys Mora, who are on the roster of the team's Venezuelan Summer League affiliate, both received a 25-game suspension for violating the Minor League Drug Program.
All three suspensions will be effective beginning at the start of next season.
