Mitchell, Alabama defeat Mississippi State 75-61

Tony Mitchell scored 23 points to lead Alabama to a 75-61 victory over Mississippi State on Wednesday night.

The Crimson Tide (14-7, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) remained atop the league standings with its fourth straight win and improved to 12-0 at Coleman Coliseum.

The Bulldogs (11-10, 3-4) cut an 18-point deficit in half, pulling to within 53-44 on two free throws by Kodi Augustus with 11:14 left.

Then JaMychal Green sparked a 12-3 run with five points and Charvez Davis hit an off-balance 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to push it back to 63-47 over the next 6 minutes.

Davis had 17 points and made 5 of 8 3-pointers for the Tide. Trevor Releford added 16 points, eight assists and four steals while Green had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Dee Bost led Mississippi State with 18 points, seven assists and four steals.
