The Southeastern Conference announced Sunday that Missouri will join the conference, officializing a move that had been reported for weeks.
Missouri will leave the Big 12 and join the conference effective July 1, 2012, according to a release from the SEC. It will start competition in all sports for the 2012-13 academic year.
Missouri will be the SEC's 14th member. Texas A&M announced in September it was joining the conference.
