Itta Bena, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Mississippi Valley State's football team will play five Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents at home this year as part of an 11-game regular season under second-year coach Rick Comegy.
Comegy took over the Delta Devils' program last year after a successful eight- year run at Jackson State. The Delta Devils finished with a 2-9 record, including 1-8 in the SWAC.
After opening the 2015 campaign at New Mexico on Sept. 5, Mississippi Valley State will face Southern in its home and conference opener on Sept. 12.
Also set to visit Rice-Totten Stadium are Alabama State (Sept. 26), Texas Southern (Oct. 17), Jackson State (Oct. 31) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 21).
