Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Mirim Lee carded a 5-under 67 on Friday and that helped her extend her lead to two strokes after two rounds of the JTBC Founders Cup.

Lee, who is an LPGA Tour rookie, ended 36 holes at 13-under-par 131. She missed the tournament's 36-hole scoring mark by two strokes.

Lydia Ko posted a 6-under 66 in the second round and she climbed into second place at minus-11. Sun Young Yoo fired a 7-under 65 and moved into third place at 10-under 134.

World No. 1 Inbee Park (69), Jessica Korda (66), So Yeon Ryu (67) and Chella Choi (66) share fourth place at minus-9 at Wildfire Golf Club.

Lee birdied the first, then parred the next six holes. She faltered to a bogey on No. 8 and parred the ninth to make the turn at minus-8.

After pars on nine and 10, Lee birdied the par-5 11th. She birdied the 13th to move to minus-10.

Lee made eagle on the par-5 15th to jump to 12-under. After a pair of pars, Lee birdied the 18th to end two clear of the field.

"I played a little boring on the front nine, so I went more aggressive on the back nine," Lee stated through a translator. "It worked well, so now I plan on being aggressive the rest of the week."

Ko, the two-time defending Canadian Women's Open champion, had similar front nine to that of the leader. Ko birdied the second, then parred six in a row before tripping to a bogey on the ninth.

The 16-year-old dropped in back-to-back birdie chances on 12 and 13 to move to minus-7. Like the leader, Ko made eagle at 15.

Ko followed with birdies on 16 and 17 to climb within two of the lead.

Defending champion Stacy Lewis carded a 1-under 71 in round two. She ended in a tie for 13th at 7-under-par 137.

NOTES: Lisa McCloskey had a hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth ... Suzann Pettersen, who is nine shots off the lead, could move to No. 1 in the world with a win this week ... Vicky Hurst and Mi Jung Hur both withdrew during the second round with wrist injuries ... The cut line fell at 2-under par 142 with 74 players moving on to the weekend ... Among those that missed the cut were Brittany Lincicome, Na Yeon Choi, Cheyenne Woods, Natalie Gulbis, Yani Tseng, newly named U.S. Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster and Angela Stanford.
