AC Milan heads to the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday looking to continue its recent exquisite run of form in Serie A.
Milan, on a five-game winning streak in league play and occupying third place in Serie A with 20 points, will face Fiorentina, which has claimed just one win from its last seven matches. The last time Milan managed to win six in a row was during the 2005-06 season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho impressed for Milan in its last Serie A contest, a 4-0 thrashing of Catania.
The Swedish striker converted a penalty kick for the opening goal after Robinho was fouled in the box. He then turned provider for his Brazilian teammate, as Robinho latched onto a through ball from Ibrahimovic and slotted a shot into the lower corner.
The result was a typical one for Milan, which features the most potent attack in Serie A. The Rossoneri have hit for 23 goals in just ten league games this season, seven more than the team with the second-highest total, Lazio.
Fiorentina, with just nine goals for and eight goals against in 2011, is coming off a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chievo.
Elsewhere in Serie A on Saturday, Lazio, tied for first place, is hopeful of extending its unbeaten run to seven games, but it will face a stern test against sixth-place Napoli, and Inter Milan is searching for just its second win in its last four league matches when it faces Cagliari at the San Siro.
On Sunday, Serie A's other first-place team, Udinese, will look for its third- straight win in league play when it travels to the Stadio Ennio Tardini to face Parma.
Roma snapped a two-game losing skid with a 2-0 win over Novara in its last outing. Luis Enrique's men hope to build upon that result on Sunday when they host a Lecce team already facing a battle against relegation. Lecce has managed just eight points from ten games thus far.
Juventus is the only unbeaten team remaining in Serie A this season. The Turin club, sitting in fourth place, aims to continue its roll against fifth-place Palermo in an appetizing fixture at Juventus Stadium on Sunday.
Cesena, sitting in last place with just three points on the year, will look for claim its first win of the season when it travels to Bologna.
Rounding out Sunday's action, eighth-place Catania will host Chievo fresh off its narrow win over Fiorentina, and separated by only a point, ninth-place Siena hosts Atalanta at the Stadio Comunale.
