Michigan St coach, recovering from heart attack, makes surprise visit to team on eve of game
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has made a surprise visit to practice for a chat with his players and coaches.
School spokesman John Lewandowski said Dantonio addressed the team briefly at Friday afternoon's meeting and chatted with position groups during a pre-practice session.
Lewandowski said the coach walked around and spoke with his players.
It's the first time Dantonio has addressed the team since Michigan State's 34-31 overtime win Saturday night over Notre Dame. Dantonio was hospitalized after suffering a mild heart attack.
Assistant coaches visited Dantonio at his home Wednesday night.
