The New York Mets have suspended starting pitcher Matt Harvey three games for violating team rules, general manager Sandy Alderson announced Sunday.
According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Harvey did not show up to the ballpark on Saturday for the team's 7:05 p.m. game against the Miami Marlins.
Rosenthal notes that Harvey will not be paid for three days he's away from the team, due to the nature of the suspension, but he can appeal.
Harvey was scheduled to start on Sunday afternoon but the Mets recalled lefty Adam Wilk from Triple-A Las Vegas to start in Harvey's place.
Harvey is 22 on the season with a 5.14 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP.
