Syracuse, NY – Syracuse center Fab Melo has been reinstated by the university and will return to the court Saturday after missing three games.
The school didn't disclose why Melo was forced to sit, citing federal student privacy laws, but it was said to be an academic issue.
Melo is expected to play Saturday when the Orange visit St. John's.
The first game Melo missed ended up being Syracuse's first loss of the season, a 67-58 setback at Notre Dame on January 21. The Orange bounced back with wins in their last two outings against Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Melo started each of Syracuse's first 20 games this season and is averaging 7.2 points with a team-best 5.7 rebounds and 60 blocked shots.
